It was a pleasure to reupholster these lovely big wing back chairs from the 90s for my beautiful customers.  They are huge, solid, comfortable and steeped in the history of a now grown family.  No matchy matchy here, instead we took the ‘his’ and ‘hers’ approach, choosing fabric that settled perfectly in a creative’s home.  We used Picton Jungle and Mareeba Gold from Warwick Fabrics on these two big beauties.

Are you ready for Spring?  Is your outdoor furniture ready for Spring? If it is looking sad, drab, faded, dusty and has possibly even been chewed by the family pooch. I can help with that!

Both Warwick Fabrics and Wortley Group have fabulous new outdoor fabric hangers that showcase a multitude of textures, patterns and colourways. Both fabric houses have done the coordinating for you so all you have to do is imagine what you want and get in touch with Kylieanne at House of Upholstery.

Don’t settle for the cookie cutter, off the shelf, mass produced options this season. Freshen your outdoor spaces up with your own style using these fabrics and you are sure to create outdoor eye candy. Think about popping your pieces with contrast piping or keeping a neutral palette or going bold in your choices. Make your outdoor spaces places you want to relax, unwind and share with your family and friends this season.

Things to consider before you dive in: Do you need new foam? Are the seats comfortable or do you feel like there is no padding under your tush ! If so, let’s get the foam issues sorted at the same time. I’m a huge fan of function. If we are going to make beautiful outdoor furnishings together, we need to make sure they are comfortable. We don’t want everyone standing around the furniture admiring it, we want everyone using the furniture, relaxing on the furniture, creating memories in comfort! Function is important!

‘Tis the season to breathe new life into your outdoor settings now that Winter is nearly done.  Get ahead of the outdoor sewing rush and get your upholstery ready for Spring 2026.

The Ningaloo pattern is a vibrant botanical velvet fabric by Warwick Fabrics.  It was chosen by my customer for this little sentimental chair, in colourway Coral.  Ningaloo in Coral is an eclectic, warm toned botanical pattern that draws your interest, offering tones that suit many interiors.

Restyling your sentimental pieces through upholstery means you can bring those old pieces out of the shed and back into your living space.  Admiring their history and enjoying their functionality once again.
